Sipadan is known for being an ecological paradise and a beacon of biodiversity with over 3,000 species of fish and a lush variety of coral.
Barracuda Point is where the action is: a swirl of black-tailed barracudas cavort alongside large schools of mackerel, while bannerfish criss-cross corals and humphead parrotfish feed - all under watchful reef sharks monitoring the area. Divers can spot over thirty green sea turtles gliding or resting above the sponges and stunning soft corals along the spectacular 600 metre wall.

Islam is the dominant religion, but Christians, Buddhists and followers of traditional animist beliefs also live in the region.
Economically, Sabah has long relied on agriculture, fishing and forestry - in recent years, ecotourism has established itself as an increasingly important economic sector, complemented by activities in the oil and gas sector and palm oil production. Sabah offers travellers numerous highlights: from the majestic backdrop of Mount Kinabalu to extensive rainforests and national parks to lively cultural sites and markets.
