The M/V Maldives Aggressor II is a first-class liveaboard dive vessel offering year-round dive cruises to the stunning atolls of the Maldives. It accommodates up to 22 guests in 11 cabins, each of which is equipped with a private bathroom and shower, wardrobe, hairdryer, individually controlled air conditioning and TV/DVD. On the main and upper deck there are 4 deluxe cabins and a suite with sea view, while the lower deck is equipped with six standard twin cabins.

The spacious, air-conditioned indoor area includes a saloon and a dining room where guests are spoilt with a varied selection of American and local dishes. Soft drinks, iced tea, beer and wine are included in the price. In addition, guests can enjoy the spacious sun deck, which is partially covered and offers sun loungers, seating, bar service and a CD/stereo player.

The Maldives are located in the south-west of India. Scattered across the equator in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the gem-like islands of the Maldives are a rare vision of tropical paradise. Palm-fringed islands with gleaming white beaches, turquoise lagoons, clear, warm waters and coral reefs teeming with a rich variety of marine life have fascinated visitors for thousands of years. The Maldives is a tropical destination for liveaboards with a year-round sea breeze.

There are three completely different types of diving in the Maldives: inside the atolls, outside the atolls and inside the channels or passes, where the currents are strongest and you will find the largest concentration of fish. Most fascinating are the cleaning stations, which can be found around every corner and under every ledge. Groupers, snappers, surgeonfish, eels, parrotfish and even giant Napoleon wrasse park casually in corners, unnoticed by all (including cameras), while armies of wrasse, shrimp and other cleaners pick at debris in their open gills and cavernous mouths.

The 'Best of the Maldives ' covers North Male, South Male, North Ari, South Ari, Vaavu and Rasdhoo, which include spectacular channel drift dives, wrecks, pinnacles and world-famous night dives.

Guests embark and disembark in Male. This is a year-round itinerary, with each of the dive sites offering exciting diving opportunities.

Day 1: Arrival/embarkation/departure

Guests will fly in and out of Malé, Velana International Airport (MLE) and will be met and transferred to Maldives Aggressor II by speedboat from 11am to 5pm on the start day of the charter.

Guests will be met at the airport at 15:30 by a crew member of the Maldives Aggressor II wearing an Aggressor polo shirt and hat and then transferred to the yacht by water taxi (free of charge) at 16:00.

We strongly recommend arriving at least one day before the start date of the charter and either staying in a hotel or resort in the Malé area, or Scubatours Adventure department has many other wonderful options for longer stays on other islands.

All guests must be on board by 5pm on all itineraries so that the yacht can depart for the first night anchorage with the first dive the following morning.

Dinner takes place ashore in a restaurant on the water and costs around USD 35 per person. This is the only meal that is not included in the tour price.

Check-out time starts at 8 am. After breakfast, a transfer to the airport is offered. If you are travelling from Malé later in the day, you may consider a day room/day pass at a local hotel, there are several places close to the airport and can be booked in advance by our travel department.

Marine life: Divers will be amazed by the variety of marine life. From nudibranchs, eels, schools of reef fish, eagle rays, sharks and turtles to manta rays and whale sharks.

Malé International Airport: If your trip starts in Malé and you arrive early in the morning, we recommend you either book a day room at one of the local hotels or wait at the Coffee Club, located just outside the arrivals hall, where the staff will greet you at 3.30pm and take you to the yacht by water taxi at 4pm. The Maldives Aggressor II is anchored in Hulhumale Lagoon, which is a 15-minute boat ride from the airport.

The Maldives
is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean consisting of around 1,200 islands, of which around 200 are inhabited. These islands are located southwest of Sri Lanka and India and form one of the world's most famous and beautiful holiday destinations. The Maldives is known for its stunning white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and rich marine life that attracts divers and snorkellers from all over the world.

Location and geography:
The Maldives covers an area of around 90,000 square kilometres, with the majority consisting of coral atolls. The capital Malé is located on one of the largest islands and is the political and economic centre of the country. The islands are located in a tropical climate zone, which means they enjoy warm temperatures and high humidity all year round.

Population and religion:
The population of the Maldives is relatively small at around 520,000 people. The majority of the population are ethnic Maldivians and the national language is Dhivehi. The Maldives is a Muslim country and Islam is the state religion. Around 98% of the population are Sunni Muslims, which strongly characterises the country's cultural and religious identity.

Economic situation:
The economy of the Maldives is mainly based on tourism, fishing and boat building. The tourism sector is of crucial importance as it accounts for a significant proportion of the gross domestic product (GDP) and creates many jobs. The Maldives is a popular destination for luxury travellers due to its unspoilt nature, luxurious resorts and world-famous diving opportunities. Fishing, especially tuna fishing, also plays an important role in the country's economy.

Position in the Indian Ocean:
The Maldives occupies a strategically important position in the Indian Ocean, between the Arabian Peninsula and South Asia. This geographical position makes it an important hub for maritime trade and shipping. The islands are also vulnerable to the effects of climate change, especially sea level rise, as many islands are only a few metres above sea level.

Importance of diving tourism:
Diving plays a central role in the Maldivian tourism industry. The country is known worldwide for its spectacular diving spots, including coral reefs, shipwrecks and a variety of marine life such as manta rays, sharks, turtles and colourful tropical fish. The unspoilt nature and impressive underwater biodiversity make the Maldives one of the best diving destinations in the world. Many tourists come for this reason, and the Maldivian islands offer a variety of diving centres and schools for beginners and experienced divers.

The Maldives is therefore not only a tourist paradise, but also a country with a unique geographical location, a close connection to nature and a significant role in international diving tourism.
